Who made my clothes
Who made my clothes
At Moss Le Petit we care deeply about the lives of people involved in the production of our garments and work towards building lasting relationships.
This beanie was meticulously and ethically made by Omar in his home workshop in Chorrillos, a district of the Lima Province in Peru. It gets its name from the Spanish word for "trickle of water". Omar is an experienced artisan who has dedicated over 16 years to working with a manual knitting machine.
He is known for his creativity and his ability to manage his responsibilities as a parent. The art of operating a manual knitting machine demands a great deal of precision, attention to detail, and patience, all of which are skills that Omar has mastered over the years.
Certification – Fair trade.
With Fair trade certification, artisans receive fair wages, work in safe conditions, and can improve their skills and knowledge while fostering community.
Together, let's make a difference!
Sustainable Attributes

What we do to create a greener planet -
Small batch production -
At Moss Le Petit, we take sustainability seriously. That's why we produce our garments in limited quantities - it's not just about minimizing waste, but also about doing our part to prevent excess inventory from ending up in landfill. We know it's not always easy to make eco-friendly choices, but we truly believe it's worth it.
Your decision to choose our products means you're supporting a company that cares deeply about the environment and our future.
Natural fibres -
We pour our hearts into creating garments that are not only gentle against your little one's delicate skin, but also kind to our planet. We always prioritize the use of the softest natural yarns to ensure your little one's comfort, while also reducing our carbon footprint.
By choosing natural fibres, we're doing our part to conserve resources and minimize waste, as these materials require less energy and water to produce and biodegrade safely.
Alpaca -
Alpaca wool is naturally warm, soft, and durable, and its hypoallergenic properties make it suitable for those with sensitive skin. Alpacas have a lower impact on the environment, producing less methane and requiring less land, water, and feed than other grazing animals.
Globally certified -
We make every decision with our planet and children in mind. That's why we take great care in sourcing raw materials that are ethically and sustainably produced.
This garment in particular, is created using raw materials that have OEKO-TEX certification - a standard that verifies textile products have been rigorously tested and found to be free from harmful substances.
Packaging -
We believe in using minimal packaging that can be reused or composted.
100% of our E-Shop packaging is made from recycled kraft paper.
We use POLLAST!C™ mailers made from 100% ocean-bound plastic pollution which is collected on beaches, shorelines and waterways in the world’s poorest and most-polluted coastal regions. Pollastic pays collectors a fair wage. In turn, this helps lift their communities out of poverty and gets plastic out of our oceans – to ultimately be recycled indefinitely. Carbon offset. Traceable to source.
Thank you for joining us in our efforts towards a more sustainable future!
